Feng Wei’s art concept and language orientation both go towards the origin of local culture. Avoiding interference from secular world and entering a clear state is a way to return the homeland of cultural spirits, and also the cultural consciousness that we need in this age. The main themes of Feng Wei’s oil paintings include the shimmering lake, pagoda's reflection and old valley, which present his yearnings for soul and concernfor spirits. He has visited " Three Lanes and Seven Alleys”, the cultural heritagein Fuzhou City in different seasons and time to explore those old stories happened there. He creates spaces that has substantial content and shows the mental image of the historical streets. Feng’s artworks are like dreams, what we can read from it is the prospect of history, as well as the retrospection of culture.
