Aiming at bringing peace and calm to Hong Kong, a cosmopolitan city that is grotesque and bizarre, Vision and Resurrection Ink Exhibition by Mr. Xu Yisheng and Ms. Xu Hongyan, a father and daughter joint exhibition in Art of Nature Contemporary Gallery. Inspired by Lao Zi’s Tao Te Ching, seeing is more than seeing; it’s about examination and understanding. Also a metaphor for family and art lineage.

Vision and Resurrection reflects different aesthetic tastes and visual expressions between two generations. As an important member of Chang'an School of Painting, Mr. Xu absorbs strengths from masters and formed his unique style. His works shows vast landscape in Northern China with exquisite techniques and charming colors. Meanwhile, Ms. Xu, currently a visiting scholar in CUHK, in an attempt to reconstruct ink painting. In searching her own creative approach with her own aesthetic value and understanding, believed that nirvana can be attained eventually.

The joint exhibition by father and daughter also brings collision of ideas and emotions interchange. The ink art lineage in the family will evolve and transcend. Mr. Xu shows his spirit and will with freehand technique while Ms. Xu expresses with abstract concept. Extraordinary contrast can be found between traditional and modernity. Complementing each other and being mutually supportive.
